Dermal Filler Pre-treatment ​Instructions

• Avoid aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for ​5 days, if approved by your primary care provider.
  

• Do not have any other treatments on the face or mouth for ​at least 2 weeks (ex: dental procedures).
  

• Avoid alcohol consumption at least 24 hours prior.
  

• Avoid any “anti-aging” products 5 days before such as ​Trentinoin.
  

Dermal FillerAftercare

• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
  

• Avoid manipulating/massaging the treated area.
  

• Avoid strenuous exercise and heat exposure including ​saunas and hot tubs for 48 hours.
  

• Do not apply anything to the skin until the day after treatment: ​No cleanser moisturizer, or makeup!
  

• You may use a cold compress and Tylenol every 4-6 hours to ​reduce swelling, soreness, and discomfort.
  

• Avoid sleeping on your side or stomach for 24 hours post-​treatment to prevent dispersing the product.

• Wait a minimum of 2 weeks before any dental work, skin care ​or laser treatments.
  

• Redness, swelling, bruising and tenderness around the injection ​sites are common after treatment and will subside after a ​few days but can last up to a week or two.

• Do not use topical agents that may increase sensitivity of skin 5-7 ​days prior (AHA, BHA, exfoliating masks, retinoids, salicylic acids, ​hydroquinone and benzoyl peroxide acne products).

• Avoid IPL/laser procedures 2 weeks prior.

• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Aleve and ​Motrin 3 days prior to treatment.

• Avoid blood thinning agents (if approved by your primary care ​provider) 1 week prior.

• Let us know if you are prone to cold sores before your ​appointment.

• If you have active acne in area of treatment, please call to ​reschedule.

• Please arrive with fully cleansed skin: no make-up, moisturizers, or ​any other products on skin.
  

• Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (ex: Ibuprofen, Aleve, Motrin) for 1 week.

• Avoid the use of ice packs.

• May take Tylenol as needed for discomfort.

• Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. Always use a full ​spectrum sun screen SPF30 or above. Apply sun screen when going outside.

• Avoid strenuous exercise, sauna, hot tubs for at least 24-48 hours.

• Avoid make up for 3-5 days.

• Keep skin moisturized at all times with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer.

• DO NOT pick at skin that is starting to flake off.

• Avoid exfoliating and peels for at least 7 days.

• May restart skin care products including retinoids after a week.

• Keep skin clean. Use mild, non-irritating cleansers.

• Avoid touching/scratching the area.

Botox Pretreatment Instructions

Avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair ​removal creams in the area(s) to be treated.

Don’t skip breakfast. The morning of, consume plenty of food ​and drink as this will decrease the chances of lightheadedness ​during the treatment.

Ask your provider about medications you take that could ​increase bruising/bleeding.

Allow 2 weeks for full results.

Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to ​treatment. Alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk ​of bruising.

It is best to schedule Botox or Dysport treatments at

least two weeks before a big event.

Botox Aftercare Instructions

Sit upright for the first 4 hours.

Do NOT touch the area near your injection for 1-3 ​days.

Avoid exercising for the first 1-3 days.​

Do NOT apply makeup for 24 hours

Do NOT drink alcohol for 24 hours.

Avoid the sun or other forms of heat exposure like ​tanning beds, hot tubs, hot showers, and saunas for 24-​48 hours.

Avoid sleeping directly on the treated areas, ​especially for the first 24 hours.

Bruising is common and should disappear by 2 ​weeks.

Do not receive facial, laser treatments, or ​microdermabrasion after Botox injections for at least 7 ​days.

You may lightly apply an icepack for pain relief and to ​reduce swelling (on for 10-20 minutes at a time; can use ​every few hours).

Redness and swelling is typical for the first 24 hours.

Seek medical help immediately if you experience these rare side effects: trouble swallowing, breathing, speaking, muscle weakness, vision changes.
